The Terminal

Equipped with the most strict safety equipment, the Cruise Terminal has the ISO 9001 and ISPS Code certifications – International Ship and Port Facility Security, which was established and signed by 166 member nations of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Pier Mauá is a founding member of the Central de Atendimento de Emergência (CAE – Emergency Call Center) of the Port of Rio de Janeiro and promotes regularly training with its team to ensure safe and quality service to all shipowners and operators, service providers, suppliers and tourists.

Pier Mauá also participates in and supports the creation of the Centro de Controle de Acidentes Ambientais (Environmental Accident Control Center), of the Cia. Docas do Rio de Janeiro, which will have the necessary equipment for containment of accidental oil spills caused by renters or port operators that do not have operational conditions to face these problems. Among the instruments to be used are boats, containment and absorption booms, oil collectors and communications equipment.

Facilities

The Pier Mauá International Cruise Terminal is equipped with comfortable facilities for all federal and state agencies that operate in the port area: Customs, Federal Police, Civil Police, Anvisa, Ministries of Labor and Agriculture, Maritime Agencies, Customs Agents and Port Authority (Companhia Docas do Estado do Rio de Janeiro). It also has medical facility for first aid and ambulance with mobile ICU service. Large warehouses for boarding, disembarkation and luggage ensure the comfort of tourists and excellent working conditions for service providers.
